Toad Town appears as the main hub of Paper Mario: The Origami King. It is south of Peach's Castle. Areas connecting to Toad Town include Whispering Woods in the south, Picnic Road to the north, and the harbor to the east. After the Sea Captain Toad is rescued, Mario can board a boat to enter the Great Sea. From the Toad Tram, a tram can be taken to Overlook Mountain or Autumn Mountain only after Mario's first ride between the latter two and rescue of the tram operator in Autumn Mountain. There is a Weapon and Item Shop near the port. Most items are added by collecting them on the overworld, while the Shiny Mushroom is unlocked after destroying the blue streamer. There is a pier with a Rocky Wrench behind the red brick building on the right side of town where Collectible Treasures of the Legion of Stationery members can be bought for defeating the respective member.
Toad Town was intended to be where the Origami Festival would be held, and both Mario and Luigi were invited by Princess Peach. When King Olly takes over, Paper Macho Goombas begin to appear and even form some Not-Bottomless Holes, and the residents evacuate the town. As more folded-up Toads are rescued, Toad Town begins to slowly repopulate. After the final boss is defeated, the Origami Festival is held once more, with characters whom Mario met also being present.
