The Off-Road tires are an unlockable set of tires in Mario Kart 8. Despite their namesake, the tires do not give any advantages or disadvantages. They appear similar to the Slim tires from Mario Kart 7, ironically more so than the Slim tires from Mario Kart 8. The Off-Road tires share their stats with the Standard, Blue Standard and GLA Tires, while their palette-swapped counterparts are the Retro Off-Road tires.

In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Off-Road tires are now available from the start, and while they still share their stats with the Retro Off-Road tires, the only other tires they share their stats with are the Triforce Tires. As a result, the Off-Road tires now boost the ground speed, water speed, weight and traction stats while reducing the acceleration, ground handling, water handling, anti-gravity handling and miniturbo stats. CPU Wario uses these tires with the Tri-Speeder; Roy, King Boo and Pink Gold Peach uses these tires with the Badwagon; Dry Bones uses these tires with the Standard ATV and Shy Guy will sometimes use these tires whenever he is using the Sneeker or the Flame Rider.

The Off-Road tires return in Mario Kart Tour, used by the Flame Flyer, Barrel Train, Cucumber, Ghost Ride, Red Taxi, Blue Badwagon, and Fast Frank. Green versions are used by the Dasher II, silver versions are used by the Iron Cucumber, Shielded Speedster, and Cream Classic, brass versions are used by the Rose Taxi and Iron Cucumber, and gold versions are used by the Gold Train.
