The Cloud Glider is a glider in the Mario Kart series. It is composed of two balloons in the shape of Lakitu's Cloud.

HistoryEdit

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 DeluxeEdit

The glider first appears in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It offers a slight boost in acceleration and air handling while slightly lowering the weight and the air speed stats. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a CPU Lakitu occasionally uses this glider during races.

Mario Kart TourEdit

The Cloud Glider returns in Mario Kart Tour as a High-End glider. It was introduced in the Tokyo Tour and became the signature glider of Waluigi (Bus Driver) in the 2020 Mario vs. Luigi Tour. Striking opponents with Lightning grants more points when using this glider. The Cloud Glider also has four other variants, named the Rainy Balloons, Blizzard Balloons, Sunset Balloons, and Aurora Balloons. The Tropical Balloons glider is also a counterpart to this glider. All five gliders are also classified as High-End gliders.
