Template:Rename Template:Species-infobox Giant Spiked Balls[1][better source needed] are larger versions of Spiked Balls.

A Giant Spiked Ball

Like their smaller counterparts, Giant Spiked Balls can destroy blocks and even the smaller Spiked Balls. They appeared first in New Super Mario Bros. where they appear in various levels, their first appearance being in the second castle in the game. They return in New Super Mario Bros. Wii in World 8-2. In World 8-Airship, Bowser Jr. uses Giant Spiked Balls that possess the ability to explode, and must be used against him. In New Super Mario Bros. 2, they appear in two castles in the game. In World Mushroom-Castle, there is a Spiked Ball that is even larger than the already giant Spiked Balls. They are absent in New Super Mario Bros. U, and New Super Luigi U as they are replaced by big Grrrols. They also appeared in Super Mario 3D Land with a purple color.

Giant Spiked Balls also appear in Mario Party 9 in the minigame Tumble Temple.

They also appeared in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, where they are used by Spikes. They are only slightly larger than regular Spiked Balls and can only be countered with a hammer strike.

In Super Mario Run, Bowser's Koopa Clown Car can spit out Giant Spiked Balls. The Giant Spiked Balls have the ability to break certain platforms.
