Mr. Resetti (real name Sonny Resetti) is a major recurring character in the Animal Crossing series. He is a mole with a yellow hardhat, blue overalls, and a pickaxe. In earlier Animal Crossing games, Mr. Resetti will appear if the player shuts off or resets the game without saving. Mr. Resetti will belittle and berate the player every time they do so, with his speeches become longer and irate with succeeding resets. He also has a brother named Don Resetti who substitutes for him on occasion.

History[edit]

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

Mr. Resetti first appears in Super Mario-related media as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee promoting Animal Crossing.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Resetti appears as an Assist Trophy. When summoned, Resetti will begin to give a speech chastising the players over not saving their game, sometimes even calling out the players on the stage or making impressions of them. His speech bubbles will block the top or bottom parts of the screen, depending on his position. Occasionally, Resetti might create a small explosion after being attacked. After his speech is done, Resetti will disappear.

There are two different trophies in the game for Mr. Resetti: One is for his normal appearance where he is angry and his lower body is within the ground. The other has him calm and fully outside of the ground. There is also a sticker for Mr. Resetti.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]

Mr. Resetti is a trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. He does not appear as a Assist Trophy in either this game nor Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mr. Resetti is a Ace-class grab primary spirit. He has two slots for support spirits. When equipped, aside from the standard attack and defense boots, Mr. Resetti also decreases the user's jump height. Mr. Resetti does not have a spirit battle. He can only be obtained by summoning him using the cores of Mettaur, Muddy Mole, Dugtrio, and two attack spirits. Mettaur is a character with a hardhat, Muddy Mole is a mole, and Dugtrio is based on moles.

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]

Mr. Resetti appears as an obstacle in the Animal Crossing course from Animal Crossing × Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He acts similarly to a Monty Mole. He does not appear in the winter version of the track.

Super Mario Maker[edit]

Mr. Resetti is one of the costumes available using a Mystery Mushroom in Super Mario Maker.

A mole wearing a hard hat who'll show up when you restart your game without having saved. He pops up and lets you know in no uncertain terms the importance of saving your game. In the Japanese-only "e+" version, he works at a so-called "Resetti Observation Center" where you can pop in for a visit.
