Coco the Monkey is the mascot of various chocolate-flavored Kellogg's cereals internationally. He is typically depicted as a clever character, and a friend of a diverse group of jungle animals, who creates smart ideas with short time to escape danger initiated by his nemesis Crafty Croc. The character's design, as seen in British Coco Pops advertisements, was an inspiration for that of Diddy Kong.[1]

Coco appears as one of two playable characters in the cereal box board game Super Mario Kart: Choco Island Challenge, participating in a race alongside Donkey Kong Jr., while Luigi and Toad assist them.

Other Mario-related promotions with Coco's cereals have included Coco merchandise alongside the Nintendo characters. A 1995 American Cocoa Krispies Game Boy promotion included art of Coco in its Nintendo sticker collection, and a French Choco Pops Donkey Kong Country pog set included Coco pogs.
