Hefty Goombas are enemies in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. They are encountered in the World 1 Enemy Course and in World 8-2. Hefty Goombas split into two normal Goombas when stomped. They are the only large enemies that can be frozen by ice balls, but need to be Ground Pounded because their huge size prevents the player character from being able to lift them. Giant Goombas are shown to about twice as large as a Hefty Goomba, and they split into two Hefty Goombas when stomped.

Hefty Goombas are enemies in New Super Mario Bros. U. They are encountered in the Goomba Enemy Course in Layer-Cake Desert as well as in the level Jungle of the Giants in Soda Jungle, appearing when the player jumps on a Big Goomba. Hefty Goombas act the same as in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
