Frogoons are creatures in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They are green frog-like foes who follow the bidding of the Tiki Tak Tribe. *The name "Frogoon" may originate from the creature's frog-like appearance and its ability to inflate itself like a balloon.

The Kongs, bouncing on a few Frogoons in Donkey Kong Country Returns

Frogoons are green frog enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. Their name is a combination of "frog" and "goon". Frogoons repeatedly jump up and down in one place. They can inflate their body while in midair to hover up slightly higher. Donkey Kong can easily subdue Frogoons by jumping on top of them, causing them to deflate and blow away offscreen. Frogoons often appear together in groups. If one looks closely, one can see that Frogoons sometimes try to catch and eat a small fly in-between jumps. They also have a yellow variant named Hopgoon.

In Mario Kart 7, Frogoons appear as obstacles on DK Jungle, which returns as a classic course in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Here, they do not inflate at all, and only jump across the road, thus acting like Hopgoons. They cause vehicles to spin out and lose three coins if crashed into, but can be temporarily repelled with offensive items such as Green Shells. Frogoons make two consecutive jumps before turning the other way in Mario Kart 7, while in the latter two games, they only jump once.

Frogoons do not appear in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze although a grasshopper enemy, Punchy Paddy, behaves similarly to Frogoons.

Frogoons reappear in WarioWare: Get It Together! as enemies in the Donkey Kong Country Returns microgame.
