The Dragonfly is a kart in the Mario Kart series. It resembles a red tractor. The emblem is located on the hood (and behind the seat in Mario Kart Tour).

History

Mario Kart DS

The Dragonfly first appears in Mario Kart DS as Wario's unlockable kart. It is unlocked after the player beats the Nitro Grand Prix in 100cc mode, just like all the other unlockable karts in the game. It has fairly low acceleration, handling (tied with the Royale), and drift (tied with the Banisher), along with high speed, weight, and items. It is one of the heaviest karts in the game; its weight is tied with the Rambi Rider.

The kart is unlocked for Luigi and R.O.B. as well when the player gets gold trophies in all Nitro or Retro Courses in 150cc, and becomes available for everyone else when gold trophies are obtained in every cup in Mirror Mode.

Mario Kart Tour

The Dragonfly returns in Mario Kart Tour alongside a new yellow variant called the Firefly, starting from the Amsterdam Tour. Its design was slightly modified, with a slightly darker red color scheme, a smaller cab, and a differently-designed exhaust pipe. They are both classified as High-End karts. The Dragonfly uses thinner black and red versions of the Monster tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Four counterparts, which are also classified as High-End karts, called the Dozer Dasher, Black Dozer, Pink Dozer, and Ice Dozer also appear in Mario Kart Tour, but they are designed after bulldozers. This makes the Dragonfly the second kart to be introduced after its counterpart, the first being the Sushi Racer. The Dragonfly increases the duration of Slipstream boosts and the number of points earned for performing a Slipstream.
