Ostrich Elder, Donkey Kong Bananza

Ostrich Elder's Rehearsal Hall is a Bananza Rehearsal in Donkey Kong Bananza. It is hosted by the Ostrich Elder in the post-game. The player has to collect 400 Banandium Gems before being allowed to attempt the Rehearsal.

This Rehearsal Hall takes the form of a hub-and-spoke layout, as opposed to the linear format of the other Rehearsals.

Layout[edit]

Rehearsal Hall Entrance[edit]

The Entrance consists of a long walkway followed by a long triangular tunnel of spiked concrete that the player must glide through. On the other side of the tunnel is a stone platform. The player must continue from the stone platform towards updraft fans and through moving pillars of spiked concrete.

Center Stage[edit]

On the other side of the updraft fans and spiked-concrete pillars is a large triangular platform known as Center Stage. This area serves as the central hub of the Rehearsal Hall, where the other areas can be accessed. Center Stage also includes the first Banandium Gem of the Rehearsal.

To each side of Center Stage is a slab of concrete covering an updraft fan that leads to the other challenges. The player must use Egg Bombs to destroy the concrete.

At the front of Center Stage is the Tower of Turbulence, an extremely tall tower made of slippery Neptunite. An Ostrich Fractone explains that at the end of each challenge is a Constructone; if both Constructones are met at the end of each area, they will return to the Center Stage and build a Barrel Cannon that leads to the top of the tower.

Left path[edit]

Taking the updraft fan on the left leads to a large floating island with a platform of ice and a Trailfinoid that produces ice paths. The player must use the Trailfinoid to ascend to a platform of lava, then destroy the protruding lava using Egg Bombs to reveal two more updraft fans. The fans lead to a platform with a Barrel Cannon. The Barrel Cannon fires the player up towards a Blast Barrel that fires the player towards a ring of lava that must be glided through. At the other side of the lava ring is the entrance to Sizzle-Wing Circus.

Right path[edit]

Taking the updraft fan on the right leads to a large floating island with a platform of stone and a Trailfinoid that produces paths of bouncy rubber. At the far edge is a secret area beneath the stone platform. The player must use Egg Bombs to switch the Switcheroo Goo platforms and reach a secret Banandium Gem on the opposite side of the island.

The player must use the Trailfinoid to ascend up the island over the thorns, then use another Trailfinoid to ascend to another island further ahead. The next island contains a Barrel Cannon, which fires the player up towards a Blast Barrel that fires the player towards a ring of stone that must be glided through. At the other side of the stone ring is the entrance to Bouncy-Bounce Park.

Sizzle-Wing Circus[edit]

“Welcome to my circus! It's SCORCHING hot!”
Ostrich Elder

This challenge area involves several rings of lava that the player must glide through. The first section contains platforms of snow and lava rings. In the second section, the player must ascend using updraft fans through rotating rings. The third section involves three large rings of varying sizes.

In the fourth section, the player must fire out of a Barrel Cannon when the rings are lined up properly. The fifth section involves many rings of various thicknesses and sizes.

The area ends with a long triangular tunnel of lava that the player must glide through. On the other side of the tunnel is a room with a Banandium Gem, some Ostriches, and a Constructone. Talking to the Constructone causes it to return to Center Stage and opens the exit door.

Sizzle-Wing Circus Sideshow[edit]

After exiting, the player can either take the Neptunite path on the left to return to Center Stage, or take the Barrel Cannon on the right for an extra challenge.

The extra challenge is a two-dimensional course where the player must use Chunk Jumps and glides to dodge lasers and a lava ring, and reach a Banandium Gem at the end of the course. After reaching the challenge goal, the player can take the Barrel Cannon to return to the Sizzle-Wing Circus exit.

On the way back to Center Stage, there are two floating islands. The island on the right consists of a spiked-concrete Crockoid standing on a spiked concrete platform.

The island on the left contains a concrete-concealed updraft fan, below a cage with a Gloo Gum platform. The player can use the fan to reach the Gloo Gum platform, then take the platform up to the cage where another Banandium Gem is located.

Bouncy-Bounce Park[edit]

“This park is gonna put a bounce in your step!”
Ostrich Elder

This challenge area includes rubber enemies that must be bounced on to advance. The player can Dive Punch onto the rubber to bounce higher. The first section consists of Crockoids and hidden Wallopoids.

In the second section, the player must use Munchoids to cross platforms of electrified iron. In the third section, the player must bounce off of Trapantuloids with rubber tops to cross more electrified iron.

In the fourth section, the player must bounce off of Molevoloids on a Neptunite wall to ascend.

The fifth section involves a throw zone filled with Muckoids, whose projectiles produce paths of rubber. The player must reach the updraft fan at the top of the rotating throw zone to advance.

The area ends with a long triangular tunnel of electrified iron that the player must glide through. On the other side of the tunnel is a room with a Banandium Gem, some Ostriches, and a Constructone. Talking to the Constructone causes it to return to Center Stage and opens the exit door.

Bouncy-Bounce Park Sideshow[edit]

After exiting, the player can either take the Neptunite path on the right to return to Center Stage, or take the Barrel Cannon on the left for an extra challenge.

The extra challenge takes place on a platform of mud, which includes pillars of mud with rubber platforms. Some rubber platforms will turn into hordes of Peekaboopoids, and the player must bounce across the actual rubber to reach the top, where another Banandium Gem is located. After reaching the challenge goal, the player can take the Barrel Cannon to return to the Bouncy-Bounce Park exit.

On the way back to Center Stage is a floating island consisting of a pool of lava with some Boom Rock bombs inside. The player can detonate the Boom Rock with Egg Bombs to access the bottom of the pool, where another Banandium Gem is located.

Tower of Turbulence[edit]

“This is it! The last one! Let's see ya FLY to your FAVE DJ!”
Ostrich Elder

Once the player has talked to both Constructones at the end of each area, they can take the Barrel Cannon at the base of the tower to reach the top.

At the top of the tower, the player must take the Barrel Cannon and make a long glide toward the end. The player must glide through walls of enemies and obstacles, including Buzzoids, lasers, Batteroids, and VoidCo Bongo Blasters.

Ostrich Elder's Throne[edit]

At the very end of the glide is a platform containg the final bunch of three Banandium Gems and several Ostriches that congratulate the player.

Balloons[edit]

  • After the group of three spiked pillars after the Rehearsal Hall Entrance, just before Center Stage. The player must destroy the spiked-concrete between the two updraft fans to reveal a third fan that allows for access to the balloon.
  • In the third section of Sizzle-Wing Circus, after the updraft fans. This balloon is on top of the first lava ring.
  • On the way back to Center Stage from Sizzle-Wing Circus, the player must defeat the spiked-concrete Crockoid.
  • At the end of the Trapantuloid section of Bouncy-Bounce Park, inside a Trapantuloid with a spiked-concrete top. The player must lure the rubber Molevoloid closer to the previous section to reach the Trapantuloid, then drop Egg Bombs on its top to defeat it.
  • In the final glide after the Tower of Turbulence, at the end of the section of Batteroids and VoidCo Bongo Blasters.
