Mr. Mayor,[1] as he is referred to as by Princess Toadstool, is a mustached Mushroomer who inhabits a village in the Swiss Cheese Alps, which he is the mayor of.
In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Koopenstein", Mr. Mayor, when Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool arrive in the village, presents them with the key to the village in a show of appreciation for them having come to defeat Dr. Koopenstein. After giving this key to Princess Toadstool the village key, Mr. Mayor leads the cheer for Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool after they promise to do their best in defeating Dr. Koopenstein.
