Yoshiaki Koizumi was the director of Super Mario Sunshine, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat and Super Mario Galaxy. He also worked in other Mario games, however not as the director.

Trivia

  • Yoshiaki had wanted to always create a boss fight, in where the character had to climb up the boss. He tried to make this happen in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time but decided in the end to not do that. Later, in Super Mario Galaxy he used a boss named Megaleg that Mario had to climb to defeat.
  • Yoshiaki did not know that Galaxy had Super Mario Bros. 3 music, until the game was actually released.
  • Originally, he wanted to create more levels with Mario having to find Luigi, however he didn't have enough time to do so.
