Super Note Blocks[1] (formerly known as Magic Note Blocks[2][3] or Red Jump Blocks[4]) are objects derivative of hidden Note Blocks that appear in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario 3D Land. When a player presses the jump button just after landing on one, they ascend into a Coin Heaven.
In Super Mario Bros. 3, where Super Note Blocks are pink, the area afterwards usually auto-scrolls to the end, and it has lots of coins, as well as a 1-Up Mushroom occasionally.
In Super Mario 3D Land, where Super Note Blocks are twice as long, have white notes instead of black, and flash a rainbow of colors, the following area usually has a Super Star used to run through a group of enemies, or a platforming section that requires use of the Nintendo 3DS's stereoscopic 3D, in order to receive a Star Medal at the end.
Super Note Blocks are replaced by Cloud Cannons in Super Mario 3D World.
