Template:TattleInfo Template:Catch Card The Soopa Striker is a Koopa Troopa sub-species that appeared in Super Paper Mario. These enemies are largely soccer-themed: they wear white soccer uniforms and have black and white checkered shells, reminiscent of a soccer ball. They attack by placing a shell onto the ground and then kicking it at their opponents. Soopa Strikers are the second most powerful relatives of the Koopa Striker (excluding the Dark Striker, which is only found the the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials) so as such, they were used by Count Bleck to protect his castle. They can also be found in the 69th room of the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials.

Trivia

  • The name "Soopa Striker" is derived from "super" (spelled in a way that mimics "Koopa") and the striker position actually used in soccer.
  • It may also be a reference to Mario Super Strikers, the North American name for Mario Smash Football, a soccer game for the Nintendo Gamecube.
  • According to its Catch Card, Soopa Striker plays for a team called the Koopa Kickers and was once pictured on the front cover of a magazine called Koopa Kleats.
