“EEEEEEEK! That tears it! Time to end your journey with my handy balloon bombs!”
Kamek, Yoshi's New Island

Template:Species-infobox Item Balloons[1] (or Items Balloons[2]), also known as Baron von Zeppelins[3][4], balloon bombs or Balloons[5], are different colored balloons with smiley faces that appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, Yoshi's Island DS, Yoshi's New Island, Yoshi's Woolly World, and Yoshi's Crafted World. Item Balloons usually carry harmful or helpful items ranging from coins and extra lives to bombs and Needlenoses and/or Shy Guys. Item Balloons drop the item or enemy they are holding when a Yoshi goes under it (except in the case of 1-ups). A trio of Item Balloons also carry crates together. They also help in the final battle against Baby Bowser by dropping Giant Eggs.

In Yoshi's Story, a similar type of species called Air Bags appear.
