"Poshley Heights" is a musical theme in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It serves as the theme of Poshley Heights.

History[edit]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[edit]

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door marks the first appearance of "Poshley Heights."

An arrangement of "Poshley Heights" titled "Excess Express (Day)" plays during the daytime while aboard on the Excess Express. It is similar to the original version, but is played through a speaker filter.

The Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door features a new arrangement of "Poshley Heights," which is used for the same purpose as the original. Compared to the original's synthetic instrumentation, this arrangement is done in a jazz style, and includes an original section played on saxophone that plays before looping not heard in the original.

The remake also features a new arrangement of "Excess Express (Day)," which plays for the same purposes as the original. Like the Nintendo GameCube version, this theme is played through a speaker filter in-game, but it doesn't have this filter when played through the sound test. This arrangement is done in a big band style with a focus on accordion. Like the arrangement of "Poshley Heights," it also has an original section that plays before looping not heard in the original.

A third arrangement, titled "Royal Poshley Park Tower," plays while inside the Royal Poshley Park Tower in Poshley Heights. This is a quieter, slower-paced arrangement played on piano.

If the Nostalgic Tunes badge is equipped, "Poshley Heights" and "Royal Poshley Park Tower" will be changed to the original version of "Poshley Heights" from the Nintendo GameCube version, while "Excess Express (Day)" will be changed to its own original version.
