Although Jack O' Goombas did appear in New Super Mario Bros. But only appeared in World 4-Ghost House and World 7-Ghost House. It also appeared in the minigame Speed.
Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy 2
The Jack O' Goombas later reappear in the sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. They have not changed much from the predecessor, still wearing a pumpkin mask, releasing blue flames once in awhile. Yet these enemies are not limited to haunted galaxies, being found in such places as the Clockwork Ruins Galaxy.
