Mario crossing some floating island platforms
Floating island platforms[1] are objects that appear in Super Mario World. They are orange triangular rock platforms with flat grassy tops. They float on the surface of water and can be stood on by the player; however, when stood on, they start to sink into the water. When the player gets off a floating island platform, it rises back to the surface of the water, unless it has entered a pit. Floating island platforms appear exclusively in Yoshi's Island 4.
An unused version of a moving lift uses the same tiles as the floating island platform, though the platform is wider.
