Hippos are creatures appearing in Donkey Kong Country Barrel Maze. They appear in the second and eighth levels of the game, and are the only creatures to appear in the game that aid the player as opposed to damaging them. Hippos always appear in pairs of two.
Details[edit]
Hippos are always found in water, which they will periodically rise out of in order to serve as a platform for the player's barrel. After a moment, the hippos will descend back under the water, which will cause the player to fall in the water and take damage if they are crossing the hippos when they go under.
