Moving Mushrooms[1] are a type of Mushroom Platform in New Super Mario Bros. They remain static at first, but when Mario (or Luigi) steps on one, they begin swaying and moving from one part of the level to another. A Moving Mushroom appears in secret areas in World 1-5 and World 7-6, and Mario can ride it to reach the third Star Coin in the former and the first Star Coin and a red-flag exit in the latter. Two larger Moving Mushrooms appear in World 3-2 after the midway point; Mario must ride them to reach the goal.
