Gelatin[1][2] or goo,[3] is an obstacle in New Super Mario Bros. It is a yellow goo-like substance that appears in World 7-Ghost House. It is found in only a single room in the level, where it acts as the room's floor. It contains the second Star Coin, some Coins, and a ? Switch needed to proceed in the level. It can be dug into only with a Ground Pound, although it reverts to its normal shape if the player does not continue digging into it. A similar-looking yellow substance known as Rippling Floor can also be found in the same level.
