This is the only attack in the game that can burn enemies, but that does not instantly detonate Bulky Bob-ombs and Bob-ulks. This is because it is not a fire-based attack; it is non-elemental. However, the Burn status inflicted on the enemy as a result of a successful Action Command will cause the enemy to detonate at the end of the turn.
To perform the move's stylish command, the player must press gcn as Vivian resurfaces in their initial position after the attack.

Shade Fist is a base move available to Vivian during the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Unlike most attacks, executing the Action Command (pressing the correct button as indicated between A Button, B Button, X Button and Y Button), will not deal extra damage but rather inflict burn on the enemy for two turns. However despite being able to inflict burn, it is not inherently an elemental attack, and it will not detonate Bulky Bob-ombs and Bob-ulks if the Action Command is failed.

To perform the move's stylish command, the player must press A Button as Vivian resurfaces in their initial position after the attack.
