Cat Shine

Cat Shines are the main collectible appearing in the Bowser's Fury mode of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. They boast a shiny, crimson appearance, shaped like a cat's head, complete with golden facial features, whiskers, and ear canals; surrounding this is a series of golden triangles of varying widths, loosely resembling the outer edges of a Shine Sprite. Cat Shines are often accompanied by a vibrant glow that makes them easy to spot.
One hundred of these collectibles are scattered all throughout Lake Lapcat, with sixty-five being found on its islands, and the remaining thirty-five hidden within the lake itself. Mario and Bowser Jr. must collect five of them in order to awaken a Giga Bell's power, with the number increasing as the player progresses through the game.[1] Normally, the name of the mission to get the Cat Shine appears on the screen, but at other times, the "to awaken" (Japanese: 目覚めよ！ギガベル Mezameyo! Giga Beru, "Wake Up! Giga Bell") may be displayed along with the target number of Cat Shines. The animation that Mario performs when collecting the Cat Shines resembles the one done upon collecting a non-story-related Power Moon in Super Mario Odyssey. Collecting a Cat Shine as Small Mario turns Mario into Super Mario.

In addition to the ones found on the islands themselves, there are also 35 individual Cat Shines scattered around Lake Lapcat as a whole. While each of them are counted individually and they are all labeled as from Lake Lapcat, the Cat Shines are usually found within a certain Giga Bell sector.
Lakeside Giga Bell
- Climb to the Shine[2] :Cat Mario is needed to obtain this Cat Shine. In between Pounce Bounce Isle and Fort Flaptrap, there is an island with a Cat Wheel that Cat Mario will need to spin to raise a platform, and then climb the platform to reach it.

- Lost Kitten by the Shore:[4] Obtained by bringing a calico kitten back to its parent, which sits by the Giga Bell. The kitten is found on the other side of the Giga Bell.
- Bounce and Trounce in the Clouds[5]
- Toad Brigade: Lost Leader[6] :Can only be obtained after the story is completed. Near the gate to Scamper Shores, Captain Toad can be seen being chased by a bunch of Cat Biddybuds. Once all of them are defeated, Captain Toad will award the Cat Shine.
