Floating crates[1] are a type of platform appearing in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U. They are large indestructible wooden crates that float in water, sinking when a player character or an enemy stands on them or a snowball rolls across them. Once a floating crate is jumped off or the enemy or snowball is removed, the crate returns to its place. Floating crates appear throughout the New Super Mario Bros. U level Fliprus Lake; its New Super Luigi U counterpart, Fliprus Floes; and the Time Attack Challenge Fliprus Crossing.
