Mario's Slides is one of Mario's minigames in Super Mario 64 DS and a Variety minigame in New Super Mario Bros. Its gameplay is similar to that of another Super Mario 64 DS game, Connect the Characters.

This minigame's music is an arrangement of the minigame theme from Super Mario Bros. 3, which it shares with that minigame.

Gameplay

The player must draw lines with the stylus to guide Mario to the Power Star and away from the three Piranha Plants. The player can make Mario go faster by tapping and holding the two down-pointing arrows on either side of the Touch Screen. As the game progresses, the lines previously drawn remain, making it harder to keep Mario away from the Piranha Plants. After Mario collects five Stars, he advances to the next stage, and the difficulty increases. Certain later stages have more than one Mario head and more than one Star, but the player can lead more than one Mario to the same Star. If Mario lands in a Piranha Plant, the minigame ends.

The background in Super Mario 64 DS features two cliffs in a night sky, but it is different in New Super Mario Bros., instead using a background similar to that of an underground level.
