Jack-o'-lanterns with the faces of Bowser, a Boo and a Shy Guy carved on them appear as course elements in Mario Kart Tour, exclusively during tours that occur around Halloween.

Jack-o'-lanterns that lie on the track can be knocked away by driving into them or hitting them with an item, growing back in the same spot after a while. When hit, they emit a brief Boo-like chortle. Like with festive trees and kadomatsu from previous tours, interacting with a Jack-o'-lantern awards the player bonus points, with the action being displayed as "Trick or treat!" A number of Jack-o'-lanterns of various sizes are also found on the sides of tracks or in the background and can also be driven into or hit with an item to obtain bonus points, although these remain in place. Starting October 25, 2020, 06:00 UTC, interacting with a Jack-o'-lantern of any kind also gives drivers an event token.

The only tours to have featured Jack-o'-lanterns thus far were the 2020 Halloween Tour, the Autumn Tour, and the 2021 Halloween Tour. The following are courses that have featured Jack-o'-lanterns:

Jack-o'-lanterns do not appear in most bonus challenges. When they do, they are all off the main track.
