Tropical Wigglers[1] are long, colorful Wiggler variants resembling inchworms wearing floppy purple hats. They first appear in Super Mario Odyssey, where they appear in the Lost Kingdom and the Underground Moon Caverns in the Moon Kingdom. They are not aggressive, and are in fact described with such terms as "genial" and "pleasant"; however, their spiked bodies can still cause them to unwittingly damage Mario. They move by stretching their bodies outward before contracting, which, according to the Bonneter biologist, is much like an accordion. They often do this across pathways; this, combined with their coloration, has earned them the nickname "traffic lights of the island."[1] Mario is capable of capturing it to travel over the poison or lava that fills the area, but it can be defeated by having it fall into a pit of poison or lava, or by throwing a hammer at it as a Hammer Bro, like it can be seen in the Moon Kingdom. A Tropical Wiggler will sweat when traversing over large gaps. Tropical Wigglers can also activate ? Blocks from the sides.
