Inflammonite is a boss in Donkey Kong Bananza. It appears in the Freezer Layer and it, along with Abracajabya, guards access to one of the two paths necessary to create a bridge to confront Void Kong in the Junction. Inflammonite is initially covered in a stone and lava sphere that protects its body, similar to a Rolluskoid. When its shell is destroyed, it is revealed to be a small, ammonite-like creature capable of generating snow.
Inflammonite was created by Grumpy Kong in order to stop Donkey Kong from reaching the Planet's Core before Void Kong. It is located in the factory and is preventing the locals from creating their famous Frozen Treats. Inflammonite mainly attacks by attempting to roll into Donkey Kong, leaving a trail of lava in its path, and causing chunks of ice to fall from the ceiling that can be thrown towards the boss. When hit, the magma covering it cools down and can be destroyed, exposing its true form. If the boss runs into a wall after missing Donkey Kong enough times, a giant pile of ice will fall onto it, automatically cooling it off.
In its ammonite form, the boss simply runs away, creating a trail of snow as it runs through the air. This snow can be ran on by the Zebra Bananza form, though Inflammonite creates walls of ice that must be punched in order to reach the boss. Alternatively, a chunk of rock can be thrown at the boss without the use of the Bananza form. Its boss battle has three phases, with it getting progressively more aggressive in each one. After exhausting its health three times, the boss is defeated.
Inflammonite also appears in the first round of the Bunch of Boss Battles Challenge Rush. In this battle, the trails created by its ammonite form are made of lava instead of snow.
In the DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, a statue of Inflammonite can be collected and placed in the West Ruins north of the Jungle Ruins on DK Island.

Naming[edit]
"Inflammonite" is a portmanteau of "inflammable", meaning something easily set on fire, and "ammonite", a group of prehistoric cephalopods and a well-known type of fossil.
