History[edit]
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins[edit]
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins marks the first appearance of the "Main Theme", and features several arrangements of it, the first of which being heard on the file select screen. The map theme for the Tree Zone is also an arrangement of the "Main Theme".
The original version of the "Main Theme" is the most common course theme by far. It plays in regular overground courses such as the Gate Course, the Scenic Course and the Bubble Course, a handful of boss courses (Owl Course and Block Course), and all the Secret Courses.
One arrangement that is used in courses is the game's equivalent of the Underground theme, as it is heard on dark or dimly-lit courses such as the Tree Trunk Course, the Attic Course, the Whale Course, and several courses in the Pumpkin Zone. Another arrangement is heard in two courses of the Tree Zone (Roots Course and Leaf Course), as well two courses from the Mario Zone (Gear Course and Gumball Course); this theme also incorporates World 3 Map (Water Land) from Super Mario Bros. 3. A third arrangement for courses is heard in the Bee Hive Course, the Flower Course, the Crane Course, and the Sunken Ship Course; a fourth one is heard in the Manhole Course, the Fireplace Course, and the Cheep Cheep Course; and a fifth one is only heard in the Moon Course.
The Haunted House Course features an arrangement of the Coin Room theme from Super Mario Land which also incorporates Super Mario Land 2's "Main Theme".
The "Main Theme" has also been arranged for boss battles, losing a life, and the Game Over screen.

Lyrics[edit]
Here we are, Super Mario Land number two
Grab six coins, you're through
To face Wario in his castle
My alter ego and evil rascal
He's got the princess bound up as captive
And anyway you check it, it's unattractive
So on and on the story unfolds
On the search for those six pieces of gold
Now Turtle, Pumpkin, just to name a few
Of the zones you got to pass through
So hop to Hippo level, and grab a bubble
Go outer space on the double
But while you're swimming, beware of sharks
'Cause there's villains out there to tear you apart
On and on the story unfolds
On the search for those six pieces of gold
Now bonus levels are packed with gifts
Power-up, extra life, it's hit and pick
Armored with fireballs, be well prepared
But better yet, grab those bunny ears
Fight against witches and dirty rats
And you can stomp the other bosses when they attack
On and on the story unfolds
On the search for those six pieces of gold
Mario Kart World[edit]
