This is a list of glitches from Super Mario Maker 2. All names are conjectural unless otherwise specified.
Boo defeating obstacles
If an obstacle placed on a Muncher is forced into a downward-facing One-Way Wall with a Boo above the obstacle, the obstacle will defeated as though it were an enemy. This also occurs with Thwomp, which normally cannot be defeated.[1]
Enemy power-up clipping
If the player gets a power-up on top of a Muncher while placed in the same spot as a one-block tall enemy, when the player gets the power-up, they will clip through the enemy and land on the Muncher without defeating the enemy. This can also be done with two-block tall enemies using the Big Mushroom in the Super Mario Bros. style.[1]
Lava Bubble off-screen bounce
Normally, if the player jumps into a pit, they will lose a life. However, if the player is riding in a Dry Bones Shell and the player lands on Lava Bubbles, they will bounce off of the Lava Bubbles. This even occurs if the Lava Bubbles are off-screen.[1]
Power-up clipping through the ground
As Small Mario, if the player hits a ? Block on a vertically-facing track above the ground with at least one empty tile below it and whose lower endpoint is missing with precise timing, the power-up will clip through the ground.[1][2]
Power-up Midair jump
If the player collects a power-up and press
, they can jump in midair.[1]
Spiny as P Switch
If a P Switch carried by a Swinging Claw is activated at the same time that the Swinging Claw picks up a Spiny, the Spiny will behave differently than normal. Specifically, the player will not take damage if they touch the Spiny, instead kicking it as if it were the P Switch. The player can also pick up of the Spiny as though it were the P Switch, with their character appearing to grab it repeatedly.[1][3][4]
