An object in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its GBA remake.
A translucent squishy block in Endless World of Yoshis

Squishy blocks[1] are movable platforms that appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its reissue. They are pinkish-orange blocks that move when pushed. When pushed against a wall, they squish against it, growing taller and thinner. When they are ground-pounded, the inverse happens. This is an easy way to transport items over spikes. Squishy blocks are very rare, and they appear in only three levels, being Chomp Rock Zone, Sluggy the Unshaven's Fort, and King Bowser's Castle. In the Game Boy Advance reissue, there is a translucent squishy block in Endless World of Yoshis, bringing the total to four.

After eluding Georgette Jellies and pipsqueak Sluggies, Yoshi bumps into this rubbery wonder. Exercise some dino-muscles to squeeze the squishy block against a wall, making it taller and thinner. Yoshi can then hop on top of it to get to a higher point."
