Template:Kart-infobox Template:Articleabout The Standard Bike is a type of bike introduced in Mario Kart Wii. The Standard Bike is seen as a counterpart to the Standard Kart as it is balanced in stats.

Mario Kart Wii

The Standard Bike made its first appearance in Mario Kart Wii due to the introduction of bikes. Much like the Standard Kart, each weight class has their own Standard Bike, being named Standard Bike S for lightweights, Standard Bike M for middleweights and Standard Bike L for the heavyweights. Standard Bikes perform similar to Standard Karts stat wise as lightweights have better handling and acceleration while heavyweights have higher top speed and weight. All Standard Bikes perform outward drifts, unlike most other bikes.

Mario Kart 8

The Standard Bike returns in Mario Kart 8 with a different appearance than Mario Kart Wii. In this game, the Standard Bike appears as one of the selectable kart parts for customization, they also can have custom tires and gliders. Unlike the Standard Kart, the Standard Bike alters stats slightly, raising the acceleration and handling, but lowering weight and traction. It shares its stats with Pipe Frame, Wild Wiggler, Flame Rider, Varmint and W 25 Silver Arrow.

This is the only bike body that the CPU players will use. The only exceptions are a CPU-controlled Mario and Link, where Mario might use the Comet bike body, while Link might use the Master Cycle.

CPU players who use the Standard Bike will pair it with either the Standard tires, the Slim tires, or the Monster tires, with the latter more likely to be seen with the heavyweight characters.
