After the Smithy Gang invades Bowser's Keep, Goomhilde is first seen leading Bowser's troop of Goombas in Rose Way. In Moleville, she expresses worry that most of their allies have run off. By the time Mario meets Bowser at Booster Tower, the remaining Koopa Troop is nowhere to be seen, including her.
If the player visits the Weapon and Armor Shop of Monstro Town, it is shown that Goomhilde is managing the store. While shocked to see Mario, Bowser makes his presence known and asks why she is there. Goomhilde reveals to him that she ran away because she was too scared to fight Smithy. After getting her three "little ones" to greet "Uncle Bowser", she becomes eager to sell equipment in the hopes that Bowser will forgive her. Goomhilde sells equipment for Bowser as well as general refreshments, and her triplets also try to help.
