Bimbo (known as Grupo Bimbo in Mexico and as Bimbo Bakeries USA in North America) is a multinational company founded in 1945. Bimbo predominantly sells baked goods. Bimbo partnered with Nintendo in 2023 to promote the Super Mario franchise.
Promotions[edit]
Bimbo held a Super Mario-themed promotion in 2023 in Canada. The promotion was themed after The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The promotion was known as the Mario Offer and had its own distinct website. The promotion began on March 23, 2023.[2] To participate in the promotion, customers had to purchase two participating bread products and one participating drink product in a single purchase. Participants then had to upload their receipt to the promotion's official website by August 10, 2023, in order to receive either a Cineplex general admission movie ticket code; a general admission buy one, get one movie ticket code; a large t-shirt themed after the film; or a Nintendo Switch OLED system.
When taking pictures of their receipt, participants were to take up to two photos, making sure to include the name and address of the store they purchased the products from, the current date and time, and the total cost and names of all of the products they purchased. A dedicated page providing tips on how to ensure that one's entry was accepted was also provided, though this page has not been archived.[3] The photos of the receipt were to be submitted as either .PNG or .JPG files. The page at which participants could upload their pictures also states that, regardless of how many products they purchased, only one Mario Offer is permitted.[4]
