Monolith Software Inc., doing business as Monolith Soft, is a Japanese video game developer best known for the Xenoblade Chronicles series of video games. Monolith Soft was created by former employees of Squaresoft as a subsidiary of Namco (later Bandai Namco). Nintendo acquired a controlling 80% stake in the company in 2007, which increased to 96% in 2012 before Nintendo bought the company outright in 2024. Monolith Soft assisted in the development of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart World.
