A red arrow, pointing into a blue diamond. It has been suggested that this article be merged into Warp Pipe. Reason: Even for our "use a description of the subject as the name of the page" articles, this one is a stretch. Further, this Warp Pipe has identical properties to the other Warp Pipes connected to the Warp Zone, meaning it makes sense to talk about all of the "access to / exit from" Warp Zone pipes in one place. No, we can't do that on this page. "Mysterious pipe" has only ever referred to the pipe in Brooklyn. (Which means deleting this article's second paragraph if we do not do a merge.) (discuss)

Variant of Warp Pipe

The mysterious pipe[1] is a special Warp Pipe that transports Mario and Luigi to the Mushroom Kingdom and the Dark Lands, respectively, in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The pipe is located underground in Brooklyn in the utility tunnel, where the brothers end up after breaking through a brick wall in the sewers. Unlike regular Warp Pipes, the mysterious pipe sucks up things into it and transports them through the Warp Zone[2] "into a magical new world." While in the Warp Zone, the brothers get transported through a transparent tunnel, but they get separated and sent into two different kingdoms. Also unlike regular Warp Pipes, the mysterious pipe flashes when things come in or out of it.

Late into the movie, during the Bomber Bill pursuit scene, Mario tricks it into flying inside the mysterious pipe. The Bomber Bill shrinks and explodes while inside the Warp Zone. This causes a shockwave at first, which damages Mario but then starts to suck everyone and everything into it, including the characters and Bowser's ship, transporting them to Brooklyn.
