Scope of this page[edit]
The "mysterious pipe", the pipe that the film's synopsis is "calling out by name" (extreme sarcasm), is the Warp Pipe that connects the Brooklyn sewer system to the Warp Zone. It is not the Warp Pipe that connects the Warp Zone to the Mushroom Kingdom. Those are two different pipes. They're connected by a magical tunnel in the Warp Zone, but that does not make them one pipe. This means this page's second paragraph is problematic, because mostly its about the second pipe, the Mushroom Kingdom to Warp Zone one. That pipe is not the pipe that this article is named after.
Normally, I'd remove the second paragraph and be done with it, but there's a catch. Gleaning from the page's initial edit summary, part of the reason this page was created was because the mysterious pipe appears to have different properties from normal Warp Pipes. There are the lighting effects and blue glow. These properties are also true of the pipe connecting the Mushroom Kingdom to the Warp Zone. (We see the pipe connecting the Warp Zone to the Dark Lands have a similar effect on the Warp Zone side, but the Dark Lands side of that pipe never activates on screen) So in theory, Warp Pipes connected to the Warp Zone are variants of Warp Pipes and a topic unto themselves. I think this leaves us at a crossroads
- Focus this article entirely on the Warp Pipe "identified" as the mysterious pipe, which means mostly removing the second paragraph
- Extend this article to cover all of the Warp Pipes in The Super Mario Bros. Movie connected to the Warp Zone, keeping the second paragraph (and likely going into more of a Warp Zone digression). This article would very likely use a conjectural name unless one for this subject just drops out of sky.
I'm not sure what to do here, but keeping things simple by doing option 1 seems easier. Salmancer (talk) 03:20, February 18, 2026 (UTC)
