Luigi's Mansion Spooky Hunt was an interactive promotion on the official Fox Kids website. The promotion began in late 2001. Luigi's Mansion Spooky Hunt was created as part of a cross-promotion between Fox Kids and Nintendo to promote Luigi's Mansion, which involved a contest that could net participants a copy of the game and a Nintendo GameCube. The sweepstakes began on October 30, 2001[2] and ended on December 10, 2001.
Details[edit]
Players were to find five ghosts hidden on FoxKids.com in order to put together a code. Upon finding a ghost, players would be shown an image of Luigi and the ghost, as well as a portion of a sentence. Finding all five ghosts would net the player the complete sentence, which they would then input (as well as their email address and first name) on a separate page. The only known clues are the first and fourth, which read "You are" and "getting", respectively; the images for the other clues are either partially or entirely unarchived. Five grand prize winners were chosen, all of whom received a Nintendo GameCube and a copy of Luigi's Mansion. Four runners-up only received the latter prize.
