Rift Koopas[1] are a type of Koopa Troopa appearing in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. They appear only in the level Beware of the Rifts, where they appear during a Wonder Effect to aid Rift Mario. Rift Koopas have black bodies with red eyes, with white dots on their bodies like the rifts that appear in the level, resembling a starry background; Rift Mario uses an identical pattern for its texture, even having the same red eyes.
Rift Koopas will damage players on contact and, unlike regular Koopa Troopas, cannot be jumped on to be forced into their shells. However, the player can still destroy them using the Fire form's fireballs or the Flower form's flowers.
An unused model of Rift Koopa appears in the game data, which is nearly identical besides wearing sunglasses.
