The Sergeant Guy Cannon is a Banzai Bill Cannon used by Sergeant Guy during Mario's battle against the Elite Trio in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. It does not appear in the field. In combat, the cannon hangs in the back of the enemy formation, behind the main trio. One of Sergeant Guy's attacks is to jump onto the cannon and call six Shy Guys using a whistle to load a Banzai Bill into it, which allows him to fire the Banzai Bill on the following turn. If there is not a Banzai Bill loaded, the cannon cannot be targeted, and it ignores all attacks. If Mario does not hurt the cannon before the Elite Trio attacks again, Sergeant Guy jumps on top of the cannon and signals the rest of the team. Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk, and the Sub-Goombas retreat into the background and Sergeant Guy Ground Pounds the cannon to fire the Banzai Bill. It pursues Mario off the left side of the screen, and the player has to repeatedly press the button to outrun the Banzai Bill. If the escape is successful, the Banzai Bill will droop to the ground, slide, then bounce up into the air. It lands and explodes on Sergeant Guy, blowing him back to the ground. If Mario uses a jump attack on the cannon before it fires, including Luiginary Stack but excluding Luiginary Ball, it starts to shake. Once the attack ends, the Banzai Bill is launched prematurely. Mario jumps into the background to dodge it while it chases Private Goomp and the Sub-Goombas off the left side of the screen. All of them loop back to just off the right side of the screen, where the Banzai Bill explodes. Private Goomp and the Sub-Goombas are launched back onto the screen, taking massive damage upon landing, while also inflicting massive damage to Sergeant Guy and Corporal Paraplonk as they fly. When Private Goomp uses his attack, Sergeant Guy pushes the Sergeant Guy Cannon off the right side of the screen before it occurs. After the attack, he pushes the cannon back into position. When the Mario Bros. defeat Guy, Paraplonk, and Goomp, the cannon vanishes and is not seen for the rest of the game.
In the Battle Ring, the player can fight the Elite Trio X, which have a stronger version of the Sergeant Guy Cannon called the Sergeant Guy Cannon X.
