The Luiginary Wall is the fifth available Luiginary Attack in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. The Attack Pieces for it are found in the Bedsmith area of Dreamy Wakeport and it costs 14 BP to use. It deals damage using the hammer. Dreamy Luigi holds up his hands as if he were a wall before this attack begins.
When used, Mario runs to the foreground and unleashes Luiginoids through Dreamy Luigi which form a wall that surrounds all but the foreground side of the enemies. Dreamy Luigi lands in front of Mario, spinning with their hammer. The player must press the button to have Mario spin with his hammer. This launches Dreamy Luigi into the enemies (at an angle dependent on where Dreamy Luigi is hit from) inflicting damage to the enemies. Dreamy Luigi bounces off of the three sided wall, potentially colliding with the enemies, and eventually back to Mario. The is used to make Mario move left and right, so that he can intercept Dreamy Luigi. (Mario cannot move before hitting Dreamy Luigi for the first time). The button is used again to deflect Dreamy Luigi into the enemies and keep the attack going.
Luiginoids hit by Dreamy Luigi get knocked away. If Dreamy Luigi collides with the same area of the Luiginary Wall repeatedly, then no Luiginoids will be left in that space for Dreamy Luigi to bounce off of, and he can careen through the gap. If Dreamy Luigi slips through one such gap, or if Mario fails to hit Dreamy Luigi, the attack concludes early. Additionally, if all enemies are defeated Luiginary Wall will also end.
After several rallies using Dreamy Luigi, the wall will form a tower in the background. Dreamy Luigi approaches Mario slowly, and Mario can strike Dreamy Luigi one last time. If Mario hits the tower, the tower will topple onto on the enemies in front of it for bonus damage. If Mario does not, the tower will crumble on its own for no damage.
Hitting enemies 3, 6, 10 and 12 times will yield "OK!", "Good!", "Great!" and "Excellent!" ratings respectively.
In Battle Broque Madame, Mario performs Luiginary Wall repeatedly. He has three lives, and losing Dreamy Luigi costs him one life. If this happens, Dreamy Luigi will reset back to the center of Mario's side of the play area. (Mario is allowed to move before starting the attack in this instance.) Running out of lives causes the game to end.
Additional Luiginoids replenish the wall over time. Small Madames appear as the opponents, each of which take one hit to defeat and are worth 1 point. Once all of them are defeated, either more small Madames will appear or a large Madame will appear. A large Broque Madame takes multiple hits to KO, and each hit is worth 2 points. After defeating her, the game will cycle back to the small Madames. Sometimes the attack enters the final tower phase while a large Broque Madame is present. Knocking the tower onto Broque Madame defeats her and grants a 20 point bonus, missing the tower costs one life and the large Broque Madame will leave. Afterward, the attack resets. At 999 points, the attack immediately ends.
Some items appear in the play area. If Dreamy Luigi hits one, the item's effect is applied. Items can despawn if not used for a long enough time. The effects are temporary, ending after a certain amount of time has passed. If Mario loses one of his lives, all items will stop affecting the game.
- Purple wing icon with a down arrow: Dreamy Luigi moves slower.
- Blue wing icon with an up arrow: Dreamy Luigi moves faster.
- Yellow x2 icon: All points earned are doubled.
- Yellow heart icon: The player gains an extra life. The player can gain more than three lives with this item.
- Green icon with two "Luigi emblems": A second Dreamy Luigi appears. The Dreamy Luigis do not collide with each other. Additionally, the Luiginoids making up the wall glow green and are not knocked away by the Dreamy Luigis. This effect ends if one Dreamy Luigi passes Mario, although Mario does not lose a life. It also ends if the Luiginoid Wall forms a tower.
