"Forever in the Plains"[1] is a musical theme composed by Yoko Shimomura for Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. It is a theme played mostly on flute, and it plays when Mario, Luigi, or Bowser are exploring Bumpsy Plains and Blubble Lake.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[edit]

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story marks the first appearance of "Forever in the Plains" It is also included in the official album Mario & Luigi RPG: Sound Selection. Another arrangement can also play when Mario and Luigi are inside Bowser.

The theme that plays during the game's staff credits quotes "Forever in the Plains", between "Resting in Toad Town" and "On To the Next Adventure!". It is titled "A Journey to Remember" in the remake's sound test.

In the Nintendo 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, an arrangement of "Forever in the Plains" plays for the same purpose as in the original game. It is titled "Forever in the Plains DX" in the game's sound test. An arrangement of the version that plays inside Bowser can also play, but isn't in the sound test. A faithful arrangement of "A Journey to Remember" also plays for the same purpose as the original. It is titled "A Journey to Remember DX" in the game's sound test.
