Donkey Kong Country series[edit]

Donkey Kong Country[edit]

  • Instruction booklet: Avoid touching the stinging spikes on Zinger's back![1]
  • Player's Guide: These bees are usually quite busy protecting their assigned area! They buzz back and forth, often in an arcing pattern. The spikes on their backs make them almost impervious to contact attacks. Their stingers are deadly. Only Winky can take them on one-on-one and come out the victor. Either avoid the Zingers altogether or toss a barrel at them. The latter is preferable, but the former is what usually will happen.[2]

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest[edit]

  • Player's Guide: Watch out for this stinker's stinger! Zinger often stands guard over a particular spot or flies a search pattern within a given area. The yellow Zinger can withstand most attacks, but you can shoot him down with a barrel or one of Squawk's eggs. The red Zinger is truly invincible, so don't even try to take him on.[3]

It'd be a ton of fun to ride on a Zinger, flying high up into the sky. Too bad they're covered in spikes and not all that friendly to begin with. Zingers come in different colors, with the yellow ones flying up and down and the red ones flying in circles. We don't want to spoil it, so you'll have to play to find out what the others do! (American English)
It'd be great if you could fly through the sky on a Zinger – too bad they're covered in spikes and far too nasty to let you. The yellow ones fly up and down while the red ones go round in circles. Want to know more? Go and check them out yourself, then. No promises you'll come back in one piece, though! (British English)
