Nintendo Character Guide (1993)[edit]

Princess Toadstool
The daughter of the Mushroom King led a charmed life until the Koopa's invaded. She wields the power of white magic which, apart from being the only hope for the reanimation of the Mushroom people, keeps her elegant gowns starched and clean even in Bowser's dark and filthy dungeon.

"The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 Writers Bible" Biography[edit]

Our indomitable royal heroine is definitely no old-fashioned damsel-in-distress, who does little more than wait to be rescued. She's very much a charming, energetic, contemporary young woman. Chronologically, a seventeen-year-old, but with a royal sense of responsibility and noblesse oblige that few teenagers possess. Because of her intelligence and intimate knowledge of her domain, she often takes charge of the rescue mission and comes up with the clever plan to foil King Koopa's latest plot. Her people respect and admire her. She regards the Mario Bros. as her closest friends, and is extremely grateful that they have left their own world to come help save hers. It's no easy task rescuing a kingdom, and what makes it even worse in Super Mario 3,[sic] is that King Koopa's kids regard Princess Toadstool as their prime target for troublemaking.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

Super Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

Instruction Booklet[edit]

"A princess with royal recovery abilities."

# Name Image First Game/Move Description
34 Peach
Super Mario Bros.
Princess Peach presides over the Mushroom Kingdom from her huge castle. Her loyal subject Toad does his best to protect her but always seems to fail spectacularly. Besides her royal duties, Peach is interested in both tennis and golf; since she's so magnanimous, she'll even deign to play a few matches with the evil Bowser.
35 Peach [Smash]
Smash B:Peach Bomber
Peach's ability to float is invaluable in Super Smash Bros. Melee, as she can return from incredible distances. Balancing this talent, though, is the fact that she's quite light and can be sent flying with a single powerful attack. Her attacks are fairly weak, so you'll have to hang around to win.
36 Peach [Smash]
Up & B: Peach Parasol
Down & B: Vegetable
Peach's Smash A attack will set her swinging with either a frying pan, tennis racket, or golf club. These bludgeoning devices appear randomly and have different reaches and power levels. The princess uses Toad to absorb attacks, and he counters by sending spores out at attackers. Don't worry about the little guy, though; he takes his job seriously.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

  • Instruction Booklet: "The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom can float daintily to safety."
  • Website: "The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach is once again joining the battle! She’ll do what she has to, even when she’s all dressed up.

She can silence both Mario and Bowser with her floating jumps and Toad defense. This is no time to get kidnapped."

DS Super Princess Peach
The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. Her long blond hair is a perfect match for her pink dress. Regardless of the number of Toad retainers she has, she's often kidnapped by Bowser. Though she's usually the damsel in distress, she got a starring role in Super Princess Peach, where it was her turn to rescue Mario and Luigi.
20 Peach Blossom BrawlTrophy020.png WII Super Smash Bros. Brawl Peach's Final Smash. Images of the princess border the screen and a rain of peaches falls. While this is happening, all the other characters fall asleep. So, Peach's dilemma is this - does she eat the peaches to lower her damage, or does she smack around her dozing enemies? Take stock of the situation and choose the path that leads to victory.

Count Bleck kidnaps the princess and tries to force her to marry Bowser. While jumping, Peach can use a special umbrella technique that allows her to float down gently or reach otherwise inaccessible places.
153 Wedding Peach BrawlTrophy153.png WII Super Paper Mario The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom adorned in a pure white wedding dress rather than her usual pink one. Peach also has her long blond hair drawn up in a ponytail. And who might she be marrying? Bowser of all people, who was also forced into the marriage by the scandalous Count Bleck. Brainwashed by Nastasia, Peach is even forced into giving her vows.

Snake's codec[edit]

  • Snake: Mei Ling, tell me what you know about Peach.
  • Mei Ling: Princess Peach is the beloved ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She's been kidnapped numerous times by Bowser.
  • Snake: Sounds pretty serious...
  • Mei Ling: Yes, but every time it happens, Mario ends up saving her. Sure, he may not look like your ideal "knight in shining armor." A little on the short side, I'd say... But still, don't you think it's romantic? I mean, to have a guy who's always there for you?
  • Snake: If he was smart, he'd tell her to stop getting kidnapped.
  • Mei Ling: ...You don't get a lot of dates, do you, Snake?

Peach PeachTrophy3DS.png SSB4TrophyPeach.png NES Super Mario Bros. (10/1985)
DS Super Princess Peach (02/2006)
Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach continues to prove that "powerful" and "cute" are not mutually exclusive. In Smash Bros., Peach uses her dress to float above the fray, suddenly descending and attacking with numerous weapons. A frying pan? Umbrella? TOAD?! Where does she keep it all? The Mushroom Kingdom's princess isn't just a pretty face - she's also strong and crafty. She can dodge attacks by gliding through the air, and she's hiding all sorts of stuff under that dress: a frying pan, a tennis, a golf club...even a Toad! If you're planning to take on Peach, just know that she's more than ready for you!
Peach (Alt.) PeachAllStarTrophy3DS.png SSB4TrophyPeachAlt.png NES Super Mario Bros. (10/1985)
DS Super Princess Peach (02/2006)
Peach may be a princess, but that doesn't mean she shies away from an honest day's work. Her down special Vegetable is basically farm labor, and the, vegetables of her work can be thrown. An angry-looking vegetable will do extra damage, too! She can also pull up Bob-ombs, or even a Mr. Saturn! Peach normally sticks to tasks befitting a royal, but her Vegetable special is pretty much farm labour! You can tell how much damage the veggies will do by looking a them. Happy/indifferent ones just do a bit, while the ones that just look sick of life do a lot. And the ones that look like Bob-ombs or Mr. Saturn aren't veggies at all!
Peach Blossom N/A SSB4TrophyPeachBlossom.png Peach's Final Smash is quite a spectacle to behold. Giant illustrations of Peach herself frame the screen, giant peaches rain down, and all the other fighters fall asleep. The closer they are to Peach, the longer they'll stay snoozing, giving Peach plenty of time to send foes flying or to recover her health with the peaches.

Her tough and unconventional karts are ready, and she wants to take the checkered flag. Expect to see Peach win and be elegant at the same time. The next race is about to start, but who's going to come out on top? Will it be Peach, with her lovely Peach Parasol? She's customised her kart to be both tough AND cute, because she's not just aiming to win—she's aiming to win in style!
Peach (Tennis Outfit) TennisPeachTrophy3DS.png N/A N/A Peach brings an elegance and grace to tennis that her opponents are hard-pressed to match. Her skills with a racket can put the ball right where she wants it. How she and Baby Peach can play against each other without destroying space-time is the real question. Peach is so graceful with a racket in her hand, you'd think she was princess of the Tennis Kingdom! She specialises in aiming her shots at the very edge of the court, and it seems she has no problem playing alongside Baby Peach, even if that does raise a few space-time continuum issues.
Paper Peach PaperPeachTrophy3DS.png N/A N/A Usually the Sticker Fest, sponsored by Princess Peach, is held without a problem. The thought of yet another kidnapping is never far from Peach's mind, but in Mario Super Sluggers, she gets a nice break to just focus on the game. As the leader of the Peach Monarchs, she shows off her skills with her Star Swing, Heart Swing, drawing a heart in the air to distract the fielders. It's hard work getting kidnapped all the time, so it's good to see that Peach can take some time off from it to enjoy a bit of American cricket. As captain of the Peach Monarchs, she shows her skills with her special Heart Swing, drawing a heart in the air to try and distract the fielders trying to catch the ball.

Palutena's Guidance[edit]

  • Pit: Oh, it's Princess Peach!
  • Viridi: Guess she's taking a break from being kidnapped.
  • Pit: I'm so glad we never have to worry about Lady Palutena. She can take care of herself.
  • Viridi: Really? Wasn't she imprisoned by Medusa for a bit there?
  • Pit: That hardly counts. After all, we were just freshmen back then. That would never happen now that we're more experienced!
  • Viridi: Peach has been in plenty of scrapes herself, so she ought to be quite experienced. And yet she never learns. Sometimes I wonder if she just lets herself get kidnapped for fun.
  • Palutena: I don't know about that. It seems like tossing vegetables is more her idea of fun. She'll pelt you with them the whole match if you don't watch it. But she can't reload when she's jumping, so keep your eye on what she's up to.

- Low Gliding: "Jump while crouching to float just above the ground. You can use air attacks quickly that way!"

- Side Smash Attack: "Peach pulls out a tennis racket, a golf club, and then a frying pan. Remember that order!"

- Side Smash Attack: "The tennis racket launches farthest, the golf club has the best reach, and the frying pan hurts the most."

- Gliding: "Holding the jump button will let Peach hover in the air for a short time. She can even attack as she floats!"

- Vegetable: "The vegetables' emotions are picked at random. The sort-of-wrinkled-looking ones deal the most damage."

- Peach Parasol: "Press up and down to open and close your parasol and adjust your fall speed."

- Peach Parasol: "Peach can't grab the ledge if she's facing away from it and her parasol is open. Tap down to close it, though, and she'll grab on safely."

- Vegetable: "Of the eight types, the wrinkle-faced vegetable is the strongest. If you throw it while tapping in a direction, it can do over 30% damage!"

- Vegetable: "Rarely, Peach will pull up a Bob-omb or Mr. Saturn. How rarely? Well, you have a 1/250 chance of a Bob-omb and a 1/166 chance of a Mr. Saturn!"
