This is a list of profiles and statistics for Shy Guys.

Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]

  • Instruction booklet:
    • Shyguy - Red: A member of the "8 bits" (a club from evil dreams). He wears a mask because he's shy.[1]
    • Shyguy - Pink: He moves back and forth on the hills. Carefully avoid him.
  • Mario Mania: The individual powers of these wandering zombies of the world of Sub-Con are really pretty weak. Shy Guys only pose a threat when there are so many of them that they're difficult for heroes to avoid.[2]

Super Mario Advance[edit]

  • Instruction booklet description:
    • English (United Kingdom):
If you topple a giant Red Shy Guy, a heart will appear for the taking. There are Shy Guys of different colours, too.[3]

Yoshi series[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[edit]

  • Shogakukan guide: いろんな種類だいるが、ノーマルタイプならふらふら歩いてるだけで恐くない。[5] (There are many different types, but the normal type is just wandering around and not scary.)
  • Player's Guide: Yikes! They're everywhere! Shy-Guys move slowly and tend to stay in groups for protection.[6]

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]

  • Shogakukan guide: 球状の足場に止まり、足場といっしょにグルグル回っている九官鳥。タマゴを当てるか、ふんでしまおう。[7] (In addition to the normal type, which wanders around, there are many other types. When you hit them with an egg, they roll until they hit an enemy or an obstacle.)

What hides behind that smooth, white mask? Shy Guys aren't about to show you, that's for sure. In Smash Run, each color of Shy Guy has different characteristics, and the red ones are the best at attacking. They've learned how to deliver a combo of angry punches if they can get close enough! (American English)
These bashful baddies are so shy that no one's ever seen their real faces. Since their debut, all kinds of different Shy Guys have come out of the woodwork, and in Smash Run, each colour has its strengths. The red ones are better at attacking and hit you with punch combos. Beat them to get your hands on some Attack stat boosts. (British English)
