Template:Item-infobox Superball Flowers[1], also called flowers[2] or super flower[3], are power-up flowers that were first introduced in Super Mario Land for the Game Boy and reappear in Super Mario Maker 2.[4]

Superball Flowers turn Mario into Superball Mario. This gives Mario the ability to shoot Superballs.

The Superball Flower has had the largest gap between appearances of a power-up in the Mario franchise, being thirty years between Super Mario Land and Super Mario Maker 2.

Game information

Superball Flowers are very similar to Fire Flowers. Not only do they look very much alike, but they also give the player similar abilities - Superballs are the game's equivalent to fireballs, although they behave slightly differently (ricocheting off all surfaces at 90° to arrival rather than remaining low, only one can be fired at a time) and they can collect coins when fired at them. However, in Super Mario Land, Superball Flowers do not change Mario's appearance at all.

In Super Mario Maker 2, they make Mario light and dark shades of green, similar to Super Mario Land, which was in black and white.[4] The power-up is hidden in a ? Block that is covered by Hard Blocks, preventing access to the power-up. However, the ? Block is made accessible by clearing the job, "Spiny Shell Smashers", given to Mario by Purple Toad. This allows Mario to hit the ? Block and unlock the power-up. They are only available in the Super Mario Bros. game style, as an alternate form of the Fire Flower.
