Lemguin
Template:Species-infobox Lemguin is a large sharp-billed crested penguin encountered in the games Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. Its name is a portmanteau of the animals "Lemming" and "Penguin". Lemguins are the land equivalent of Bazzas and Swoopies, other enemies which have similar attack patterns to Lemguins.
History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Lemguins first appear in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, where they only appear in one level, Lemguin Lunge, which is even named after them. In various parts of the level, an indefinite number of Lemguins jump out from holes in the snow and slide on their bellies, attempting to hit into the Kongs. In the Game Boy Advance remake, they jump straight upward before sliding on their belly.
The Kongs can defeat a Lemguin by jumping on it, hitting them from behind with a Cartwheel Attack, or by hitting them with any type of barrel. The Kongs cannot defeat Lemguin by rolling into it from the front, otherwise they get injured.
In Dixie Kong's Photo Album, Lemguins are classified under the "Terrorfirma Tuff Guys" enemy class.
Donkey Kong Land III
Lemguins reappear in Donkey Kong Land III, where they only appear in two levels: Polar Pitfalls and Tundra Blunda, and retain their behavior from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. In the Game Boy Color port, Lemguins' sprites are purple.
