The Mole Tank, also known as Mole-Yoshi,[1] is one of the several morph bubble transformations a Yoshi can undergo in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. The Mole Tank can dig through soft rocks and can be rotated into four directions (up, down, left and right) with the D-pad. One of its main advantages is its ability to drive along walls and the ceiling without falling down. It is also smaller than a regular Yoshi, enabling the tank to fit through small openings. The Mole Tank is yellow in its artwork, even though the Yellow Yoshi never gets the opportunity to morph into a Mole Tank.
Yoshi morphs to a Mole Tank after eating a morph bubble in volume 14 of the Super Mario-kun. This allows Yoshi, Mario, Baby Mario, and Luigi to dig underground. While underground, Yoshi nearly eats a Monty Mole before quickly going further underground, but upon doing so, Kamek gives the Mole Tank a beating with his hammer. Unlike in the game, the Mole Tank power-up stays for a set period of time and does not transport Yoshi back to where Yoshi got the morph bubble.
