Paper Mario description Lightning that strikes an enemy. Attack Power: 5
The Thousand-Year Door description Drops lightning on an enemy and stuns it.

The Thunder Bolt is an attack item from the Paper Mario series. On use, this item summons a bolt of lightning that inflicts five lightning-elemental damage to a single enemy and, in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the description makes the claim that this item has a chance of stunning an enemy, however, this is untrue. If it is used on lightning-related enemies such as Ruff Puffs, the enemies will be healed. It has a stronger equivalent, Thunder Rage, which deals the same amount of damage but targets all enemies.

Thunder Bolts also appear in Paper Mario: Sticker Star in the Battle Spin. If three of them are lined up, the dizzy status effect is inflicted on Mario's enemies.
