Description(s)
Lets Mario destroy a weaker enemy in the field by hitting it. (Paper Mario)
Bump into weak foes to defeat them without battling. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo GameCube)
Enables you to defeat weak foes by bumping into them on the field. (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Nintendo Switch)

Bump Attack is a badge in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. In Paper Mario, it can be bought from Rip Cheato for 64 coins after having already bought two items from him, and in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is found in the Pit of 100 Trials, on the eightieth floor. It can be sold for 150 coins. If Mario equips it, any enemy that would only give one Star Point or fewer in battle is instantly defeated if they come into contact with him. Defeating an enemy this way gives no Star Points, though they still drop items such as coins and hearts. It overwrites other badges that involve contacting an enemy, such as Dizzy Attack or First Attack. In Paper Mario, it will never work against Amazy Dayzees or Dry Bones, as their levels are sufficiently higher than Mario’s max level such that they will always grant more than 1 Star Point. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it does not work against enemies in the Pit of 100 Trials.[1]

Merluvlee's prediction in Paper Mario[edit]

  • "I see...a Bump Attack Badge. I can see a shady man living in the tunnels under Toad Town. He sells many things, but you don't know what you will get until you give him the money. The price is always the same, whatever you buy. Sooner or later, he sells you the Badge you seek."
